A Doctor Honoris Causa degree was awarded to Marcelo Dascal by the Senate of the Ştefan cel Mare University, Suceava, Romania, on the 28 September 2010. The award ceremony took place at the University Campus on the 29 October 2010.
In 2010, Marcelo Dascal was appointed, by Portugal's Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, a Member of the Jury of the "International Fernando Gil Prize", to be awarded every year to a distinguished work in the Philosophy of Science. [The Prize Announcement]
M. Dascal was the Invited Keynote Speaker and Guest Participant of The First Conference of Outstanding PhD Students in Humanities of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The students, who were awarded President's Fellowships, presented the current results of their doctoral research. The theme chosen for the Conference was "The Overt and the Covert in Language". The event took place in Jerusalem, on 17-19 June 2009.
On January 21st 2009, the Department of Philosophy and the Laura Schwarz-Kipp Chair of Modern Philosophy, Tel Aviv University, held an International Colloquium devoted to Leibniz, on the occasion of the publication of the two books on Leibniz recently published by M. Dascal: G. W. Leibniz: The Art of Controversies (A7) and Leibniz: What Kind of Rationalist? (AA26). Participated in the event: Yaron Senderowicz (Tel Aviv), Giovanni Scarafile (Lecce, Italy), Daniel Cook (New York), Rivka Feldhay (Tel Aviv), Cristina Marras (Rome), Idan Shimony (Tel Aviv), and Marcelo Dascal (Tel Aviv).

The International Leibniz Society (Leibniz Gesellschaft, Hannover) has chosen the book Leibniz: What Kind of Rationalist? (see AA26) as the annual gift to its members for the year 2009.
On December 12, 2008, Marcelo Dascal was awarded the 2008 Europrize Renoir, for his contribution to inter-cultural relations in the Mediterranean.

Argumentation Prize. MD was awarded the Argumentation Prize of the International Society for the Study of Argumentation for the year 2004. The prize was given to MD in the VI International Congress of Argumentation, held in Amsterdam in June 2006. He was invited to deliver a Keynote Speech in this congress, and spoke about "Dichotomies in Controversies".

A "Marcelo Dascal Prize" has been established by the Brazilian Association of Cognitive Science, to be awarded every three years to the best submitted monograph in the cognitive sciences. The first awardee, Marcos Antonio Alves, received the prize in August 2003 for his monograph The concept of intelligence: a sketch of an informational proposal.
The second awardee, Marcelo do Amaral Penna-Forte, received the prize in November 2006, for his monograph: On the social and cognitive aspects in a naturalized philosophy of science. The third awardee, Diego Coelho Caleiro, received the prize in September 2009, for his monograph: Every Conscious Machine Brings Us Closer to Death.
As a Gulbenkian Professor, he was the guest of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, where he contributed to the establishment and development of a M.A. Program in the History and Philosophy of Science. He also delivered a public Gulbenkian Lecture and participated in several research activities.
